I receive a log of questions and inquiries regarding my camera equipment when shooting red carpets, events and weddings. So I have compiled a list of gear that I use during my shoots. All of the gear I have listed are items that I have personally used myself and that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in purchasing this gear.
Here is a listing of all of my favorite photography gear that I have used or currently use. This gear is my “highly recommended” list of photography equipment which cover all the necessary events from weddings, portraits and even red carpet events. I will try to keep the list updated as much as a I can.
Supporting my site: I currently do not make any money from my site. This is a project of mine that I plan to build up over years. One way to support my site is by using the Purchase links provided in the list of items below to make your next photography equipment purchase. This will allow you to purchase the same product for the same price from the vendors below, but it will credit me with a very small commission on your purchase for the sales referral. Simply click the image or the “Shop Now” image that you are interested in, and it will take you directly to the product on Amazon.

The Canon 5D Mark III is by far the best camera created by Canon, just under their 1DX offering of course. This camera is perfect for any occasion from weddings, portraits and even red carpet events. This is my go-to camera, until i can get my hands on the Canon 1DX Mark II.

The Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM is the go-to lens for red carpet events. This versatile lens lets me capture the full body picture of the celebrity and allows me to zoom in to get the 3/4 body shot or the head shot. There still a little cropping that you need to do in post, but that's not a problem.

The 24-70mm f/2.8 lens is a little short for red carpet work, since its longest reach is only 70mm, however, this is excellent for portrait and studio work.

One of my favorite lenses for red carpet events, weddings and even for portraits has to be my 70-200mm f/2.8 II IS. This is probably my most used lens and the pictures that come through the lens is absolutely amazing.

The lovely Canon 50mm f/1.2. Enough cant be said about this fixed beautiful lens. This is my go to lens for portraits and is used pretty heavily during weddings as well for detail shots.
Canon Product Info: Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM
This is another one of my favorite lenses for family portrait shots as it allows me enough versatility to interact with my clients and take awesome shots.
Canon Product Info: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM
The Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 II USM lens is not as widely used as my other lenses, but it does have its uses. This is perfect for larger groups like an entire wedding party and their families. This lens is also good if you're into landscape photography.
